http://www.lifeandfaithtour.com is a huge family festival with famous recording artists, authors, and vendors. I will be at the first 2 stops on the tour with both of my cookbooks. The second one, Creative Cooking for Simple Elegance is almost complete :-)

Each event in the tour, three of them, are held at speedways large enough to hold crowds of about 70,000 people. Musicians like Amy Grant, Mercy Me, David Crowder Band, and Point of Grace. The list is so long that the concert is going to be spectacular at all 3 venues. Each Life and Faith Tour stop has 14-15 Christian authors ranging from fiction to non-fiction to cookbooks. My friend, Jennifer Hudson-Taylor will be there with her new release too, a Scottish historical, Highland Blessings. She even has accurate Scottish clothing! Hmm, should I wear an apron?

The special factor of this amazing tour full of concerts all day, author signings in an air conditioned tent, and even an opening act tent with comedians is the tie to charities. I’ve listed 2 with the tour. Each person who buys tickets has the opportunity to designate a charity of choice. When they do that, the charity receives $10 from the sale of that ticket. Those who do not designate automatically go to Karen Kingsbury’s charity. Oh, did I mention she was the keynote? :-)

The 2 charities that I signed up are the American Christian Fiction Writers Scholarship Fund. This is a great way to keep our country and world literate, by teaching the next authors the craft. Then Hope’s Promise Orphan Ministries because we not only help children get adopted in the U.S., but we have established homes in several countries with a pastor/wife team. These homes raise 10-11 children each. They are taught to love Jesus, educated, and raised to then reach out and bless their country.

Please designate either the ACFW Scholarship Fund or Hope’s Promise Orphan Ministries when you buy your ticket to the Life and Faith Tour. And please come say hi in the Author’s Tent! I’ll be so happy to meet you in person. If it’s within your power, would you spread the word? It would be amazing if these charities received funds from the tour and blessed the lives of those in need.

Travel Plans

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

So much happening this season in the travel realm! I had the distinct honor of speaking at the Naked Truth Singles Conference in Memphis last week. Came home for a short stint and we’ll be off to N. Dakota to pick up our youngest from college. But along the way I am looking for great stops to share my newest book, Creative Cooking for Colitis and its second version, Creative Cooking for Simple Elegance. The second cookbook should be finished and ready to go in the next few weeks.

Just in time to go with me to Colorado for the Colorado Christian Writers Conference mid-May. I’m excited because I’ve been asked to speak on how I tie missions to my work. This is a very important issue for me. I believe strongly in supporting those ministries that seem to have been placed on my heart by God.

Then in June and July, I’ve been invited to be on tour with the Life and Faith Tour on the opposite side of the country. Wow! You can find more information out about this series of events by going to www.lifeandfaithtour.com to see all the participants including Amy Grant, Mercy Me, Karen Kingsbury, and many more Christian artists.

All this travel is a blessing, but I hope that it brings blessings to others too.

Confidence is a skill

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

A new adventure begins. Are you: Afraid? Committed regardless? Wondering how? This blog will be dedicated to uncovering how to become more confident by growing personal skills.

Confidence can be learned! We overcome personal pirates and then build the skills that help us to become all we were intended to be by God so we can live that full and powerful life we crave.

We’ll look at how to do that here. I invite questions, comments, thoughts and helpful communication to anyone posting. Thank you for joining me in this wonderful adventure!
